Every single year, the magazine Animage, in a joint effort with the biggest magazine about Anime in Japan (Newtype), elects the best Series of the year, a combined result from the reader’s opinion with the editor’s view.

P.S: In 1993 Wikipedia gives the Victory to Moonlight Densetsu for Sailor Moon R, but so does the same for "We Gotta Power" which means that we can't be accurate at all about this, but in case of doubts, I followed the source with main information. Altough, still risky. In 1999 the same happens with Platinum for Cardcaptor Sakura.
